{"id":1565,"date":"2026-02-24T01:18:16","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T01:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=1565"},"modified":"2026-02-24T01:18:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T01:18:17","slug":"imran-khan-brought-to-pims-for-eye-treatment-receives-second-anti-vegf-injection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldwatchalert.com\/?p=1565","title":{"rendered":"Imran Khan Brought to PIMS for Eye Treatment, Receives Second Anti-VEGF Injection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Islamabad (WWA) Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, was brought to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Monday for a scheduled follow-up related to his ongoing eye treatment, according to an official press release issued by the hospital administration.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement said that Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi, 74, received the second dose of an anti-VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) intravitreal injection as part of his ophthalmic care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to the procedure, a multidisciplinary medical board conducted a detailed evaluation of his health status.The board included a consultant cardiologist who performed echocardiography and an electrocardiogram (ECG). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both test results were reported as normal. A consultant physician also examined Khan and declared him medically stable for the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After obtaining his informed consent, the injection was administered in the operating theatre under standard monitoring protocols and precautionary measures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The procedure was carried out under microscopic guidance by a consultant ophthalmologist and a consultant vitreoretinal surgeon affiliated with PIMS and Al-Shifa Eye Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hospital officials confirmed that the intervention was conducted as a day-care procedure.
