Ahmed Shehzad has said that lack of unity within the India national cricket team was a major reason behind their heavy defeat against South Africa national cricket team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Africa ended India\u2019s 12-match winning streak in the tournament with a comprehensive 76-run victory in the Super Eights clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking during a television programme, Shehzad said the Indian side did not appear to be playing as a cohesive unit, adding that the level of unity seen during the era of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli was missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also pointed to weaknesses in India\u2019s bowling combination, questioning team strategy and selection decisions. Shehzad said the side lacked depth in bowling options during crucial middle overs despite efforts by Jasprit Bumrah towards the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former Pakistan opener further criticised the team\u2019s leadership and body language, saying pressure situations had exposed shortcomings in the current combination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
