ISLAMABAD:<\/strong> Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar on Monday said doctors were satisfied with the treatment of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, adding that his eyesight had shown improvement following repeat medical examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing a lawyers\u2019 ceremony in Ferozewala, Tarar said one of the former prime minister\u2019s eyes had around 70% vision with corrective glasses, while the other had normal 6\/6 vision. He dismissed concerns regarding specific visual measurements, saying the medical team had already briefed opposition leaders and Khan\u2019s personal physicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minister\u2019s remarks came after a medical report submitted to the Supreme Court of Pakistan by Khan\u2019s counsel and amicus curiae Salman Safdar confirmed that the former premier had been diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), a condition often linked to cardiovascular risk factors. The report stated Khan had complained of losing about 85% vision in his right eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources earlier said Khan underwent an hour-long examination by a panel of five senior doctors, after which pain in his right eye reduced significantly, with further improvement expected. The medical assessment was conducted to comply with a judicial deadline requiring submission of a complete report by February 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to sources, specialist teams from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences and Al-Shifa International Hospital also examined Khan and expressed satisfaction over his condition, noting improvement in his eyesight. Jail authorities have forwarded his medical records to the Punjab Home Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, political activity intensified around the issue as Mahmood Khan Achakzai, chief of Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen Pakistan (TTAP), summoned lawmakers to consult on the future course of protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the same event, Tarar warned against road blockades, declaring closures of motorways and the Grand Trunk Road unconstitutional. He urged PTI leadership, particularly Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, to ensure the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government acts within the Constitution, adding that the federal government would intervene if violations occurred.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
