LAHORE:<\/strong> Following Pakistan\u2019s defeat to India in the ICC Men\u2019s T20 World Cup 2026, team management has expressed disappointment over the performance of senior players, with possible changes under consideration for the upcoming match against Namibia, sources said on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to sources, the management is weighing the option of resting former captain Babar Azam and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi for the next fixture in a bid to test bench strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two to three changes are likely in the playing XI against Namibia, as the team looks to provide opportunities to reserve players to prove their form and readiness, the sources added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan\u2019s spokesperson said the players would take rest on Monday, while preparations for the crucial encounter have already begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan will face Namibia on Wednesday at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground, where a victory would confirm the 2009 champions\u2019 qualification for the Super Eight stage. Even a rain-affected result could be sufficient for Pakistan to progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The possible reshuffle comes after Pakistan suffered a disappointing loss to arch-rivals India on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After opting to field first on a spin-friendly pitch, Pakistan struggled to contain India\u2019s batting as Ishan Kishan scored a rapid half-century to guide his side to 175 for five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pakistan\u2019s spin attack failed to deliver, with Abrar Ahmed conceding 38 runs in three overs and Shadab Khan giving away 17 runs in a single over without taking a wicket. Captain Salman Ali Agha termed the overall performance an \u201coff-day.\u201d Shaheen Afridi was the most economical among the bowlers, finishing with one wicket for 31 runs in two overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
