The examination began after the doctors waited for around two and a half hours for PTI representatives to arrive; however, no party leader was present during the check-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, jail authorities confirmed that the medical team arrived with necessary instruments and medicines, adding that the doctors\u2019 report would be compiled soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The examination was carried out following directives of the Supreme Court, which had allowed the incarcerated PTI founder access to specialist doctors after he complained of significant vision loss in his right eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imran\u2019s counsel, Salman Safdar, recently visited him in prison and later submitted a report before a bench headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi at the Supreme Court, seeking medical treatment for his client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sources further said an ambulance equipped with eye examination facilities was also present inside the jail premises during the medical visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, an initial medical report regarding the PTI founder\u2019s health has been sent to the Punjab Home Department. The report includes details of blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol levels and other vital signs, along with a separate assessment of his eye condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to jail officials, on-duty doctors conduct medical examinations three times daily and maintain a regular record of his health status. Consultancy reports and details of medical staff involved in his care have also been forwarded to the authorities concerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Punjab Home Department had earlier sought a comprehensive medical report from Adiala Jail administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The development comes weeks after reports confirmed that the PTI founder was diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), a serious eye disorder linked to cardiovascular risk factors including hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following concerns over his health, PTI leaders and family members have demanded his transfer to a hospital for treatment, while the government maintains that necessary medical facilities are being provided in jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, lawmakers from PTI and the opposition alliance Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aiyeen Pakistan (TTAP) continued a sit-in in Islamabad for the third consecutive day, demanding that the former premier be shifted to a hospital for proper medical care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RAWALPINDI: A five-member medical team on Sunday conducted an eye examination of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at the Adiala Jail, sources said.
