Dhaka (Monitoring Desk) Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has accepted the results of the 13th National Parliamentary Elections and announced that it will play the role of a responsible and constructive opposition in parliament.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Dhaka Tribune<\/em>, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami<\/em> Dr. Shafiqur Rahman<\/strong> said in a statement shared on social media that the party respects the overall election results and upholds the rule of law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami has always remained committed to a stable and effective democratic system and continues to stand by this principle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman thanked party volunteers and supporters for their efforts, acknowledging that some may feel disappointed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, he stressed that their struggle was not in vain, as winning 77 seats has increased the party\u2019s parliamentary presence nearly fourfold, strengthening it as a major opposition force. He described the outcome not as a defeat but as a foundation for future political progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further noted that political fortunes can change over time, citing the example of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party<\/em>, which was reduced to just 30 seats in 2008 but went on to form a government 18 years later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said democratic politics is a long-term journey aimed at earning public trust, ensuring accountability, and preparing responsibly for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman concluded by stating that true leadership is tested not only by contesting elections but also by accepting the people\u2019s verdict. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reaffirmed that Jamaat-e-Islami\u2019s movement is not limited to a single election cycle but is focused on strengthening democracy, protecting citizens\u2019 rights, and building a accountable state, adding that the party will work peacefully and on principled grounds for national development as an opposition force.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
