WASHINGTON:<\/strong> The United States Department of Justice has released a new set of documents related to the death of convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein, including previously unseen and graphic post-mortem photographs and an FBI report detailing the circumstances surrounding his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the documents, Epstein\u2019s body was found unresponsive in his jail cell on August 10, 2019, and photographs show him lying on a stretcher with visible injuries to his neck. The records state that Epstein had earlier been placed on suicide watch following an unsuccessful attempt but had later told a psychologist that he had \u201cno interest in killing\u201d himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The released files also highlight serious lapses in prison procedures on the night of Epstein\u2019s death. These included the removal of his cellmate, guards failing to carry out mandatory checks, and malfunctioning surveillance cameras in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
